This question is very
interesting. There are people with noses that would not fit the beauty
standards, who are still happy with them or have never had any problems.
The point is that if
your nose is an aesthetic problem that has discouraged your full personal
development, or has affected to your self-esteem, you are probably a candidate,
although it is also true that it is not necessarily the solution to all your
problems.
The surgeon, from an
honest point of view, should be the one to confirm this and help the patient
decide if surgery is adequate or not, and what type of surgery is best.
Regarding the age as
of which a person can get a rhinoplasty, women can have it as of 15 and men as
of 17. At this age the growth of the nose stops, and therefore a rhinoplasty
will offer reliable results.
On the other hand, a
rhinoplasty can be performed in elderly people as complement to a rejuvenation
process, being that one of the signs that make us look older is the aspect of
the nose, which loses some of the characteristics that are typical during a
person's youth, mainly regarding the position of the nose tip. The nose tip can
fall with age, which will result in a much older look.
All in all, I would
tell you that if you think that you are a candidate for a rhinoplasty, do not
hesitate in consulting me so you can solve all your doubts and I can help you
as a surgeon throughout the entire process.
